My name is Kat and I'm a writer.
I'm also a work in progress. I'm still finding my way. I'm often hard on myself for what I find. It's not for the fainthearted, this examined life.
But I can tell you this for sure: words can soothe a weary soul. And that's what I offer you here.
More about me: I write for a living and I make art for my soul. I'm a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend.
I'm also two thirds of the way through crocheting a nanna blankie that I secretly fear I might not finish before the decade is out. I've written a novel about a boy with x-ray goggles: a publisher likes it and I'm hoping to convince her to like it a whole lot more. I bake a sensational chocolate cake and a kick-ass lasagne. My propensity to disrupt a lovely walk by taking photos drives my family crazy. I find haiku addictive. I live in Melbourne, Australia so my obsession with good coffee is consistent with the cultural norm. My heritage is Greek/Welsh, so my superstitions are forgivable. I'm a fledgling yogini and may never manage to meditate. I have a doctorate in something else. You can always tempt me with a prosecco aperol.
I'm learning to step up and claim my worth in this beautiful life.
I've been told that reading my blog will make you smile and make you think. Or that it's like sitting on the couch having a cup of tea and a chatette together. The idea of both makes my heart sing.
As does the possibility that you will join me on the journey.
