Bringing it all together: my Inner Excavation journal

The Inner Excavate-along hosted by Liz Lamoreux has been such an enriching journey. And the final prompt, I know, is a beautiful way of bringing it all together.

I got inspired to print out many of the pictures I had taken in response to the prompts over the course of the seven weeks and paste them into a quirky little o-check travel journal. I especially loved the little pockets between each section (exactly seven, as luck would have it!), into which I have tucked blog posts as messages to myself in the future.

I plan to leave this journal aside for a few months, then pick it up when I have forgotten all about the treasures that lie inside. A bit like a message in a bottle! It will be the perfect companion as I embark on the next phase of my journey.

For more magical messages (in bottles or otherwise), be sure to take a look at all the gorgeous creative spaces communing at My Creative Space @ Village Voices.

  1. I am working on mine -- although I already had the journal and some things in it, I thought I'd add the photos and poetry that I've shared on my blog that I didn't put in the journal.

Am waiting for the paint to dry ... there may be pictures....

  3. I love the look of your journal and love that you will visit it after some time has passed. It is really fun to read over messages that you have sent yourself from the past =-)
